Setting up your shop
You need two things: a Google account, and one product with a photo. Everything below happens on your phone.
Step 1 — Sign in
Open app.linki.rw and tap “Continue with Google”. There is no password to make or remember. Linki never sees your Google password.
Step 2 — Name your shop
Type your business name. If Google gave us your personal name, change it — most shops are not named after their owner.
Step 3 — Choose your link
This is the address you will share, like yourshop.linki.rw. Keep it short and easy to say out loud, because you will be reading it to people. We check as you type whether it is free, and suggest others if it is taken. You can change it freely until your shop goes live.
Step 4 — Confirm your phone number
We send a six-digit code by SMS. Type it in. This number is where your order alerts go, so use the phone you actually carry. Your shop cannot go live until this is done.
Step 5 — Add your MoMo details
Enter the MTN MoMo code or phone number you want buyers to pay. This is what your checkout page will show them. Check it twice — a wrong digit here means money going to the wrong person.
Step 6 — Add your first product
One photo, a name, a price in RWF, and how many you have. If it comes in sizes or colours, add those as options with their own stock. One product is enough to open; add the rest later.
Step 7 — Go live and share
Tap to make your shop live, then put the link in your WhatsApp status and your Instagram bio. Send it to five good customers first and ask them to tell you if anything looks wrong.
A good first photo does more than anything else for your sales. Daylight, plain background, the product filling most of the frame.
