Does Linki hold my money?
No. Never. Your buyer pays your MTN MoMo account directly, so the money is yours from the moment it arrives. Linki has no wallet, no balance and no account that your money passes through. We also take no commission on your sales.
How do I actually get paid?
At checkout your buyer sees your MoMo code or number and the exact amount. They send it to you the normal way. You see the order in your dashboard, and when the money has reached your phone you tap “Mark paid”. That is the whole thing. We are preparing a way for buyers to pay inside the checkout page, but it is not ready yet, so today you confirm payment yourself.
What if I do not have a MoMo business code?
You can use your normal MTN MoMo phone number instead. Your checkout will show that number and the amount, and buyers send to it the same way they already send you money. A business code is nicer for your buyers, but it is not required to start.
Do I need a website first?
No. Linki is the website. You do not need to buy anything, install anything, or know how websites work. If you can post on WhatsApp, you can do this.
Do my buyers need to download an app?
No. They open your link in the browser they already have. They do not sign up, make an account, or set a password. They just pick what they want, type their name and phone number, and order.
What happens after 10 orders on the free plan?
Your shop stays open. Buyers can still see everything and place orders — we never take a seller’s shop offline over a plan limit. You will be asked to move to a paid plan before you can confirm orders past 10 in the same month. Cancelled orders do not count towards the 10, and the count starts again on the first of the next month. Right now billing is not switched on at all, so nothing is being charged.
Can I use my own domain name?
Yes, on the Premium plan. If you own something like myshop.rw, we show you the one DNS record to add and take care of the rest. Your linki.rw link keeps working and points to your domain.
What if two people order the last one?
Only one of them can. Linki holds the stock the moment an order is placed, so the second person is told it is gone instead of you having to explain it later. If an order is cancelled or expires, that stock goes back automatically.
How long does it really take?
About five minutes if you have one product photo ready. Sign in with Google, choose your shop link, confirm your phone number with a code, add your MoMo details, and add your first product.
